I still remember my reaction the morning I opened my e-mail and found a picture of one of these adorable pumpkin faces smiling back at me and the words from Diane "look at what I just figured out how to do!" I was all smiles and giggles and experienced the immediate desire to drop everything and use this technique to make my own EPP pumpkins!

Many years ago - many, my family persuaded this shy, nearly friendless teen to enter the Junior Miss Pageant. Since I was not particularly talented, I decided I would speak. And what I shared with that huge, invisible audience hiding in the darkened auditorium were words from Confuscious:
"It is better to light one small candle, than to curse the darkness."

As much as this space and the friends I have made here continually fill me with joy, I am not ready yet to return 100%. But I do want to dip my toe in, say hello and thank each and every one of you who have reached out to me and to Diane in so many lovely and heartfelt ways during these past two months. I have been completely overwhelmed by the out-pouring of love, prayers, warm hugs and reminders of friendship that have been sent our way - that are still being sent our way.

(Hello - this is Pam's daughter Diane posting. I'm posting this to both her blog and mine.)
Life is woven from both beauty and tragedy. Two weeks back, tragedy struck my family when Mom's husband of 25 years passed away suddenly from a heart attack. We both loved him dearly, as did so many people. He had one of those twinkling spirits that always made people brighten around him.
