Meet Two More of My Favorite Artists
Submitted by Pam on Fri, 02/25/2011 - 04:05
In Dianes Blog Tune-up Class, she mentions that some of the first people you meet through your blog often become long term friends. In my case that is absolutely true and Gail (That Artist Woman) and Teri (Teri's Painted Daisies) are no exception. They have been a part of my blogging adventure from day one and they continue to be friends and a constant source of inspiration.
The poppies? Teri painted them for me as part of an ATC trade because she knows i have a great big soft spot for California poppies. I loved the ATC so much that I figured out how to make little tin frames for them so I could hang them on the wall, and at Christmas, on my tree.
Zentangle by Teri C
Teri posts every single day! And often her posts are theme oriented - Thankful Thursday, Illustration Fridays, Cactus Mondays.... Zentangles are one of my favorites.
Valentine Cactus by Teri C
Another favorite - Cactus Mondays! Scroll through her posts - you will be treated to her delightful sense of humor - one of the things that first attracted me to her posts.
Most of all, I love her landscapes and wish she would paint and share more of them. Teri - did you read that? More landscapes please! :-)
I am crazy for these trees and there is no way I can put them away! Sophia and Antonio made these for me last Christmas from templates Gail provided.

And while you are there, you will find a treasure trove of art projects to share with your children.
The fish above are one of my favorites because they are so colorful, simple and cheerful.

If you find you have a budding artist on your hands - or for that matter you just want to learn a few simple techniques yourself - check out Gail's archives because she has been very generous sharing her secrets.
Teri, thank you for taking the time to comment on almost every post I wrote in the early days. And especially for your continued friendship. And for the many smiles your posts have brought to my days.
Gail, you put so much time and effort into teaching art to your students. How you find the time to create high value tutorials sharing those lessons I will never know. But I want to say thank you. You are a treasure.
